Mandelson’s inflexible friends
21 October 2008
IN HIS first act as the new minister for business, Peter Mandelson – parachuted in from Brussels to save Britain’s economy with his snake-charming skills – has frozen measures to improve flexible working arrangements in the workplace.
So the party for labour has re-hired a man Tony Blair sacked twice, because he is popular with business, to ensure its pledges to working people are watered down. No chance of Clause 4 being re-introduced either I suppose.
